The Philippine’s energy consumption increases exponentially due to population growth and economic and industrial activities. To fill energy supply gap while minimizing green house emission, the Department of Energy, together with its stakeholders promote renewable energy especially solar, as the preferred solution to address the country’s energy requirement.
The DOE also targets to increase the share of renewable energy in the power generation mix to 35 percent by 2030 and more than 50 percent by 2040, by encouraging investments and projects from local and international companies
