As we enter 2026, the Philippines stands at a pivotal moment in its infrastructure journey. Under the leadership of newly appointed Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon, the government has reaffirmed its commitment to restoring public confidence in infrastructure development—ensuring that projects are right-priced, transparent, durable, and delivered without compromising quality or orderliness. This direction is firmly aligned with the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to build public infrastructure that stands the test of time and serves the Filipino people efficiently and responsibly.
With an approved ₱530.9-billion national budget, the DPWH, together with the Senate, has pledged strict oversight, transparency, and accountability in the use of public funds. A substantial portion of this budget will support the maintenance, development, and monitoring of critical road, bridge, and tunnel projects across the country—projects that are vital to national connectivity, safety, and economic growth.
Significant investments are also being channeled into priority programs implemented in partnership with the Department of Tourism and the Department of Trade and Industry. These include funding for access roads leading to declared tourism destinations under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program, as well as road infrastructure supporting trade, industry, and economic zones through the ROLL-IT Program—further reinforcing infrastructure’s role as a catalyst for inclusive growth.
Through Mykar’s 6th Philippine Road, Bridge & Tunnel Summit, we bring together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, engineering, construction, and technology communities. Over the course of this summit, we will discuss current progress, emerging challenges, concrete action plans, and future expectations, while exploring innovative solutions and technologies that can help the DPWH and industry partners deliver projects more efficiently, sustainably, and successfully.
