With more than 25 years of expertise in the hospitality industry with the last 20 years spent with Accor, he was recently the VP for Operations – Economy and Midscale brands of AccorHotels Middle East Region based in Dubai. In 2015, he won the coveted Silver Bernache Award, an Accor worldwide recognition founded in 1989 to highlight outstanding Accor employees whose actions and exemplary behavior embody the company’s spirit and values.
Holding a degree with honors in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, USA and a certificate for Hotel & Restaurant Administration from the International College of Hospitality Administration in Brig, Switzerland, Mr. Dhawan has had vast operational and management experience working with several hotel properties in Asia Pacific including Ibis and Novotel Bengaluru Techpark in India; Ibis Singapore on Bencoolen and Grand Mercure Roxy Park in Singapore; Mercure Sydney; Sofitel Plaza Hanoi in Vietnam; Novotel Century, The Excelsior, and the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong. He now comes home to Manila since starting his hotel career at the Mandarin Oriental Manila back in 1994.
