Engr. Fortunato C. Leynes has more than 40 years of experience in the electric power industry spanning across generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. Currently, he is the Chief Governance Officer and an Independent Director of the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation and Chairman of its Renewable Energy Market Governance Commitee. He worked as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Clark electric Distribution Company. He had served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the largest privatized electric distribution utility in Nigeria.
He was also the Chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electrical Engineering of the Professional Regulation Commission and held various positions at the Manila Electric Company and the National Power Corporation.
Engr. Leynes is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer from the University of Santo Tomas and holds an Executive Master in Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Management. He is also a Thomasian Engineer Hall of Fame Awardee.
