Prior to overseeing the Department of Energy’s Financial and Legal Services, and as the Department Legislative Liaison Officer – Undersecretary Sharon S. Garin, a CPA-Lawyer by profession, started her career with the public service from the 15th to 19th Congress as Representative of AAMVBIS-OWA Partylist and was the 1st female Deputy Speaker from the province of Iloilo. She was also the House Committee on Economic Affairs, the Vice-Chair for Committee on Ways and Means, Transportation, Banks and Financial Intermediaries; and Globalization and WTO.
Usec. Sharon graduated in Accounting at the University of the Philippines-Iloilo; and Law at Ateneo de Manila School of Law and International Masters in Business Administration at Escuela Superior de Administracion y Direccion de Empresas, Spain. She has instigated several monumental changes and improvements on the implementation of existing processes that had fostered transparency, prudence, and efficiency in the Legal and Financial operations of the Department, as well as the timely formation of the Department’s programs and projects including Nuclear Projects and Amendments to EPIRA among others.
