Samie Lim is a 4th generation furniture retailer and the son of the “Father of Philippine Appliance Retailing” that operates the pioneering furniture & appliance retail chain.

He is a founding member of the Federation of Asian Retailers Association (FARA) and was Chairman of the 6th Asia Retailers Conference & Exhibition (ARCE). This major event started the phenomenal growth for modern mall, hypermarket, category killer, chain stores and franchises.

As the passionate advocate for developing SMEs in the retailing and tourism industries and in creating sustainable jobs that create wealth for a nation, he is often invited to speak in international conferences to share his insights.

Mr. Lim concurrently sits as the ‘Board’ of various companies with stakes at retailing, franchising, real estate, tourism, banking, education, and communications technology. He also finds time to devote to his advocacies, which aims to uplift the quality of life of the working class. He formerly served as the Undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), President of Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Chairman of the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC) and other social and civic associations.

A cum laude graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University, he completed the Top Management Program and the Strategic Management Program of the Asian Institute of Management, as well as Masters in Business Economics of the University of Asia and the Pacific. Mr. Lim also received special business training from the Sophia University in Tokyo and at the Institute of International Studies and training in Fujinomia, Japan.
