Alice Chan is a civil/transportation engineer and has been engaged in many challenging railway projects. With 20 years’ experience, Alice specializes in the planning of railway facilities, including passenger demand and capacity analysis as well as route and configuration planning. Alice is experienced in planning and design of APM systems; and station planning, passenger movement analysis, pedestrian modelling. She actively participated in many MTRCL projects in HK and has good knowledge in the planning, design and operation of MTR systems. Her expertise includes also a wide range of medium capacity rail technologies including Automated People Mover (APM), Monorail and Light Rail Transit (LRT) etc. She has a track record of leading multidisciplinary study teams in Hong Kong and Macau including planners, engineers, architects and specialist on rail studies covering planning, design and construction of the APM systems at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the LRT systems in Macau. She is now the project manager/study team leader of HKIA Third Runway System APM Design Consultancy and Environmentally Friendly Linkage System for Kowloon East in HK.
